Membership

1. Categories of Membership

Membership in the EduTech Teachers Network shall be open to individuals and institutions committed to the promotion and integration of educational technology. The categories of membership shall be as follows:

a) Individual Membership

Individual membership shall be subdivided into two levels:

i. Associate Member

  • Eligibility:
    Any teacher, trainee teacher, retired education professional, or individual interested in educational technology and willing to support the objectives of the Network.
  • Rights and Privileges:
    • May attend Network events, workshops, and seminars.
    • May access general resources, newsletters, and updates.
    • May participate in discussions and networking activities.
    • Shall not have voting rights or be eligible for election to office.
  • Financial Obligation:
    • No registration or annual fee shall be required for Associate Members.

ii. Delegate Member

  • Eligibility:
    Any individual eligible for Associate Membership who wishes to take part in the governance and leadership of the Network.
  • Rights and Privileges:
    • Full voting rights at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
    • Eligibility to be elected to any office within the Network.
    • Access to premium training sessions, leadership programs, and special discounts on Network events.
    • Issuance of a membership card and branded t-shirt upon registration.
  • Financial Obligation:
    • Registration Fee: UGX 50,000 (one-time)
    • Annual Subscription: UGX 20,000, payable at the beginning of each calendar year.

b) Institutional Membership

  • Eligibility:
    Open to schools, teacher training colleges, universities, and organizations engaged in educational technology or related programs.
  • Rights and Privileges:
    • Institutions may nominate up to two representatives to participate in Network events and activities.
    • Institutional name and logo may be recognized in Network publications and events.
    • Priority consideration to host exhibitions, workshops, and collaborative projects.
    • Access to training opportunities for their staff and students at member rates.
  • Financial Obligation:
    • Membership fees for institutions shall be determined by the Executive Committee and reviewed periodically by the General Assembly.

c) Honorary Membership

  • Eligibility:
    Individuals who have rendered outstanding service or contribution to the field of educational technology or to the growth and objectives of the Network.
  • Rights and Privileges:
    • Honorary members shall enjoy lifetime membership without payment of fees.
    • They may be invited to attend AGMs and special functions as guests of honor.
    • They may provide advisory input but shall not have voting rights unless they also hold Delegate Membership.
  • Appointment:
    Honorary membership shall be conferred by the General Assembly upon recommendation of the Executive Committee.

2. Rights of Members

  • To participate in programs, workshops, and initiatives of the Network in accordance with their membership category.
  • To receive publications, newsletters, and access to member-exclusive resources.
  • To vote and be voted for in Network elections (Delegate Members only).
  • To request clarification, make proposals, and contribute to the growth of the Network.

3. Duties of Members

  • To uphold the vision, mission, and values of the Network.
  • To abide by the Constitution and policies of the Network.
  • To meet financial obligations as prescribed for their membership category.
  • To participate actively in the programs and activities of the Network.

4. Termination of Membership

Membership shall cease under any of the following conditions:

  • Voluntary resignation submitted in writing to the Executive Committee.
  • Failure to meet financial obligations within the stipulated time (for Delegate or Institutional members).
  • Gross misconduct or violation of the Constitution, after due process by the Executive Committee and approval by the General Assembly.

5. Reinstatement of Membership

A former member who has resigned or whose membership has lapsed due to non-payment of dues may be reinstated upon:

  • Written application to the Executive Committee.
  • Settlement of outstanding obligations (if applicable).
  • Approval by the Executive Committee.
